Overview
Nicor Gas partnered with Habitat for Humanity of Northern Fox Valley to create the Nicor Gas Smart Neighborhood, an affordable smart home community in Chicago. The first home built—the Show Home—served as an interactive educational experience, showcasing the innovative technology and energy-efficient products featured throughout the neighborhood.
To support the experience, more than a dozen large-scale wall graphics and wall signs were designed and strategically placed throughout the home to guide visitors and communicate key information. Additional deliverables included a wayfinding brochure that directed guests through the space and connected them to a website with detailed product information. The campaign also entailed a range of supporting materials, including a promotional spread published in Forbes to coincide with the Show Home launch.

Wayfinding Brochure

Tri-Fold Self-Guided Tour Experience
The interior panels of the tri-fold brochure featured a floor plan of the home, highlighting the visitor's starting location and guiding them through each room.
Along the route, brief descriptions introduced the smart technologies and energy-efficient products showcased throughout the house.

Products & Technology Additional Information
The inside flap of the brochure introduced the self-guided tour and explained the Wi-Fi symbol used throughout the home to identify connected smart technologies.
A QR code at the bottom linked visitors to a digital version of the tour, where each room featured expandable sections with additional details about the products and technologies on display.

To further promote the Smart Neighborhood, a full-page spread was designed and published in Forbes Magazine to coincide with the ribbon cutting ceremony and launch of the Show Home. The layout highlights the initiative of the smart neighborhood community and clearly communicates the project's overall vision and purpose.
